Backyard of the Universe

Yesterday, I was privileged to attend Valerie Chua’s first solo exhibit, Backyard of the Universe. She’s been one of the few artists who deeply inspires me in drawing over the years and it was a breathtaking experience to view her amazing works.

The exhibit was held at Heima in LRI Design Plaza. The interiors were lovely and it really matched with Valerie’s paintings. :)

The 14 paintings displayed were amazing. Seeing it in actual form is so much better than viewing them online. My sister & I loved this Alice in Wonderland inspired work of hers.

I think the highlight of the night was meeting Valerie. I’ve been a quiet follower of her blog and works and she never fails to inspire me. I was practically spazzing the whole time. That and all this time I did not know we were somewhat related. :D
Congratulations, Valerie, on your first exhibit! It was great meeting you! :) My mom & sister were equally amazed with the paintings. Continue to be an amazing and inspiring artist!
<3, Abbey
